    Throughout the history of the American continent, July has witnessed several of the most important milestones in the struggle for independence.       The coincidence of dates is not fortuitous or merely symbolic; it responds to climatic, political, philosophical, and Masonic factors that converged in this month as the propitious framework for declaring the break with European colonial powers.      In many cases, July coincided with the Masonic calendar of leadership renewal and philosophical declarations of purpose, inspiring brothers to act in accordance with the ideals of self-determination and legitimate government.      Simón Bolívar, José de San Martín, Francisco de Miranda, Miguel Hidalgo, and other liberators were linked to Masonic lodges or formed under their influence. The evening begins with a social gathering at 6:00 pm, featuring delicious Spanish paella and wine.       Our Stated meeting will follow at 8:00 pm, where we'll discuss and vote on proposed updates to our by-laws, including: Relocating our Research Lodge meetings from Long Beach Scottish Rite Cathedral to Elysian Masonic Temple Changing our regular meeting start time from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm Revising our meeting schedule from January, April, July, and October to December, March, June, and September.
